I finally visited Tofukuji, one of the most famous spots for autumn leaves in Kyoto, and and my Ikebana teacher joined me.
With this year’s extreme summer heat, people were worried that the Japanese Acers wouldn’t turn vibrant colors anywhere. The same was true here at Tofukuji.
That said, I still got to see beautiful shades of red and yellow—along with a looooot of people:)

The entrance fee is ¥1,000.
It got a little chilly after 4 p.m., so I’d recommend bringing a thicker jacket—even if it’s warm during the day.

Although it’s super crowded this time of year, the dynamic, panoramic autumn leaves are totally worth it.
I’ll definitely go again!
