Kyoto Tower is an iconic landmark of the city.
It didn’t impress me much when I was a child, but now every time I see it, I feel a sense of relief.

I wonder how many people realize that Kyoto Tower is shaped like a traditional Japanese candle used in Kyoto’s temples.

Also, you can buy these candles as a souvenir.
They are perfect because they are light, small, easy to pack in your luggage, and they won’t break.

View from the Central Karasuma Exit of Kyoto Station.

Back to the tower itself — it has one of the best spots to enjoy a great view of Kyoto.
The entrance fee is quite reasonable, and it’s located right in front of JR Kyoto Station. Plus, it stays open late!
Enjoy the city lights 🙂

You can even hop on your bullet train, Shinkansen, right after your visit.

This place is a must-visit.
